HIPAA Notice
Last updated June 2026
Conversations about a loved one’s health are deeply personal. This notice explains how Kintalks protects health-related information and the safeguards we apply to it.
Our commitment to health information privacy
Kintalks applies HIPAA-aligned safeguards to any protected health information (PHI) that may be shared through our service — including call summaries and care notes that reference a person’s medical or wellness status. We treat this information with the care it deserves.
How we protect your information
We implement administrative, physical, and technical safeguards consistent with HIPAA principles:
- Role-based access controls, so only authorised staff can view PHI.
- Encryption of data in transit and at rest.
- Audit logging of access to health-related information.
- Regular security reviews and staff training.
Permitted uses and disclosures
We use health-related information only to deliver and improve the Kintalks service. We do not sell, rent, or disclose PHI to third parties for marketing purposes. We may disclose information as required by law (for example, in response to a valid court order) and will notify you of such disclosures to the extent permitted.
Working with our partners
Where a service provider handles PHI on our behalf, we put appropriate agreements in place requiring them to protect that information to the same standard we do.
Your rights
You have the right to access, amend, and request an accounting of disclosures of the health information we hold about your family. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below. We will acknowledge your request within five business days.
